Gravel

Glass Thickness

Always use a 1.5 custom foot tank 5 mm glass, 2.5-foot 6 mm glass, or 3-foot tank 8mm. These specifications for the glass thickness are highly recommended. Cause due to the filter pressure aquarium can bust if we will not use the glass according to the specification.

Water Level

The water level of the aquarium should be the same from all sides. If the water level of the aquarium is 12 inches from the left, then it should be the same from the right side. In winter when we use the heater in the water sometimes the water evaporates.

Use always an air pump and filter in aquarium. The air pump makes the oxygen for the fishes, and the filter absorbs the waste of the fishes. At the time of installation of a new water tank, before adding the fishes into the water, it must run the filter for 48 hrs.

We can use the different types of lights according to the size of the aquarium. Due to the lights increase the beauty fishes looks better. The purpose of the lights can be to fulfill the energy of plants. Light changes the carbon dioxide into oxygen.

Beneficial Bacteria

Before adding the fish into the water, first, pour some shrimp and feed of fishes. Its help to make beneficial bacteria for the fishes. These bacteria help increase the immune system of fishes.

 Algae and Virus

When we purchase the fish. The bag holding the fish causes the virus in water. Dead fish and plants cause the algae in an aquarium. Another type of algae is blue and green algae. Algae occur from extra food in your aquarium. If we give surplus food to the fish, then blue and green algae can happen. The smell of algae is terrible. Due to these algae’s, our plants and fishes can die.

Removal of Algae and Virus

We can use anti-chlorine and methylene salt to remove these algae from the aquarium. Many salts are available in the market but always use the highly recommended salt. We can also use the batter 100 powder for the removal of algae and viruses.

How to Change the Aquarium Water

First, insert the pipe into the aquarium and half the aquarium water by using the siphon. Add the aquarium water into the bucket, then take the fishnet and catch the fish. Put all fishes into the bucket. Then empty all aquarium from water. Then clean all the toys, plants, heater, filter, and other accessories. Fill the aquarium with clean water and adds some anti-infection liquid into the water use 10ml anti-infection liquid for the 10-liter water. And in the end, transfer all fishes from bucket to aquarium.

How to Clean the Aquarium

Water Clarifier Medicine

If there is a smell in the water and the water is cloudy, use the high clarifier medicine.

General Aid Liquid

If there are cuts and blood dots on the body of the fish, then you can use this general aid liquid to remove these problems. 

Water Conditioner

The waste of the fish causes ammonia and nitrate in the water, which is terrible. You can use the water conditioner to remove the ammonia and nitrate.

Temperature for an Aquarium

Use a thermometer to check the temperature of the water. We can install a heater to manage the temperature. During the summer season no need to install the heater. Be careful and ensure the temperature does not decrease from 22 degrees. If the temperature is 26 degrees to 28 in the daytime in the winter no need to install the heater. When the temperature is a minimum of 17 degrees to 22 degrees at night, you must install the heater to manage the temperature.

If in the winter the temperature continuously below 22 degrees, then install the heater for 24 hours until the weather changed.

Always install the heater in front of the air pump. Due to the air pump pressure, the water creates waves in the whole aquarium. The waves may alter the temperature of the aquarium.

Homemade Food for the Fish

If you cannot afford the food, use small pieces of earthworm for fishes, lettuce leaf paste is the best, boil rice two times in a week not daily, cabbage boil and peas boiled is also the best food for fishes.

Types of Fish for Beginners

The following are some famous types of fish for beginners.

Guppies

These guppies are best for beginners. Start your hobby with four pairs of guppies. A minimum of eight guppies should be present! It requires a 5-gallon tank. The temperature should be 21 degrees to 26 degrees for a guppy.

Tetras

The Tetras are easily available in the market. 20 to 30 varieties of tetras are available to the hobbyist. The Neon Tetra is very easily accessible in the market. It requires a 5-gallon tank for the four pairs. The temperature should be 21 degrees to 27 degrees for these tetras.

Black Skirt Tetras

The Black Skirt Tetra is available in the market. Start your aquarium with three pairs of Black Skirt Tetras. It requires a 10-gallon tank for the three pairs. The temperature should be 20 degrees to 26 degrees for this Black Skirt Tetra.

Serpae Tetra

These fishes are beautiful. It requires 5-gallon water for the four pairs. The temperature should be 22 degrees to 26 degrees for this fish.

Cory Catfish

We can add these fishes with the tetra. Cory catfish swim at the lowest point of water, and the Tetras swim at the high point of the water. Cory Catfish work as a filter in the water because this Cory eats viruses sometimes. The temperature should be 22 degrees to 24 degrees for these Cory Cats.

Mollies

There are many varieties in the molly, and this is very good for beginners. You can start the hobby with at least three to four pairs of molly. The size of the tank should be 10 gallons for the molly. The temperature should be 23 degrees to 27 degrees.

Bettas

It is highly recommended to keep only one in one tank. Do not add the other fishes with the Betta Fish. They love warm water! The temperature should be 23.5 to 27 degrees for the Betta.

Goldfish

Start your hobby with the common goldfish. The temperature for the goldfish is 20 degrees to 24 degrees. The size of the aquarium should be 30 gallons for four pairs.

Blue Gourami

You can keep the Blue Gourami with the other fishes. It can easily survive and is friendly. The tank size should be 15 to 20 gallons for the fish. The temperature should be 22 degrees to 28 degrees for the Blue Gourami.

Platies

The Platy is very beautiful and also available in different varieties. Sometimes peoples say the Platy and the Molly are the same. But in reality, they are different. The minimum size of this is four pairs. You can also keep the four to eight pairs of these fish at the time of the beginning. The temperature is 20 degrees to 28 degrees for the Platy.
